About Me

Welcome! I am passionate, intellectually curious, and concerned about human rights, civil rights, diverse ideologies, politics, history, and spirituality. I am particularly passionate about the rights of women and children all over the world.

I am a freelance writer and marketing consultant. I take the time to notice the birds and squirrels and focus on being present to the gift of each day. Spirituality is a big part of my life. I love the Buddhist precepts of loving-kindness, befriending who we are right now, and letting go of attachments in order to feel peaceful. I believe that with all of the fear and violence in the world, the peace that starts within each one of us is so needed and will create a movement that spreads all over the world.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and love getting comments. Thank you for visiting and I hope you’ll come back again soon.

From the first time I saw the brave young men and women in Iran take to the streets, I have watched with conflicting emotions: So very moved and proud of their courage and, at the same time, sadness, knowing in my heart that Americans have lost this passion. Your comments brought this all together in a wonderfully articulate and relavant way. I want everyone I know who thinks and feels and still believes to read this and think about this as they watch the events in Iran unfold.
Thank you.
Jim

Hi,
FIrst of all, i think your posts are all very inspiring. I am part of an organization called media4humanity. We combat child trafficking in the United States, because believe it or not many people don’t know that it happens in NYC and all over the country. We use our “REAL” efforts to fight and eradicate child slavery. REAL stands for Rescue, Empowerment, Awareness, and Legislation. Through these different aspects, we want to fight off trafficking. Thank you for continuing to speak out against modern day slavery through your blog and creating more awareness!

Just found your sight and loved the posts I read….I can feel you writing straight out of my soul! I also started blogging because of the election last year, and as a retired nurse my new passion is now trying to make sense of the health care issue. Keep up the good work, and I’ll definitely be back…..

15/6 I would very much appreciate any suggestions whatsoever,on how I can best support child rape victims within Sierra Leone. I know it is a horrendous global problem not only throughout many African nations, but is becoming more prevalent in Sierra Leone. I am a long term advocate for the rights of children,a trained Teacher and former anti-Apartheid activist of more than half my life (including combatting racism) With monetary restraints and the aftermath like many African nations from war, this issue can be addressed by dedication, patience, understanding, tolerance, unity and LOVE. Look forward to hearing from you – TAKE CARE – Sharon Mengersen (SOUTH AUSTRALIA)
